Russian Ballet in caricatures      We reproduce here some of the caricatures first published in 1903 in the book Russian Ballet in Caricatures. They come from the pen of the extraordinary Legat brothers: Nikolai and Sergei. Graduates of the St.Petersburg Imperial Ballet School, the Legat brothers rose to the positions of premier danseurs and partnered many of great ballerinas of their time. Their legacy to the ballet world is not only their pedagogical and choreographic work, but also their perceptive artistic eye and sense of humor.
